Convertible, Booster and Infant Car Seats
The most important concern for parents is the safety of their children,
and fortunately there are high Government standards set for car seat
safety, that the manufacturers all diligently adhere to, or even exceed,
in both manufacture and testing.
Children's car seats are available in a variety of styles and colors,
with your choice of different types and styles, depending on the size,
age and weight of the baby, toddler or small child. The three main types
available are:
- Infant
Car Seats
These are rear facing, and are suitable for infants newborn through
20 to 22 lbs., which can vary according to the manufacturer and the
model chosen.
- Convertible
Car Seats
These 3-in-one car seats are a popular, versatile choice and are larger
than infant carseats. They are used facing the rear for infants up
to 25 lbs., and can then be changed to front-facing for the toddler.
- Booster
Car Seats
These are for toddlers and small children who have outgrown regular
carseats, and are used either with regular seat belts or with their
own built-in harnesses, depending on the model.
